Together YES: How communities can support the YES vote

On National Apology Day, February 13, we launched our 2023 Zoom program with a discussion about how communities can support the Yes vote in the upcoming referendum, and ensure their MPs and Senators represent them on this vital issue.

The First Nations Voice to Parliament referendum marks a pivotal moment in our nation’s history and will be carried by what non-indigenous people say and do. Alana Johnson AM is in discussion with Professor Julianne Schulz AM, who has written extensively on what it means to be Australian, and Mary Crooks AO, Executive Director of the Victorian Women’s Trust who introduces the ‘Together, Yes’ campaign, a version of the original Kitchen Table Conversation process designed to help shift the dial across the nation.

The Panel cuts through the noise and diversionary arguments to give us knowledge, practical steps and a values-based process for getting conversations going in communities, empowered by knowing what is being asked of the Australian people is straight-forward.

Facilitator: Alana Johnson AM

Panel: Professor Julianne Schulz AM and Mary Crooks AO
