Insights for 2025

Kylea Tink MP exemplifies what being a Community Independent means. Sadly, for Australia and the North Sydney community, their electorate has been abolished, so Kylea will no longer be the Member for North Sydney after the next election.

As Kylea’s term draws to a close, hear her insights from Canberra and the experience she shares with two outstanding Community Independent candidates, Caz Heise and Alex Dyson who made their seats marginal in 2022 and are running strong campaigns to join the cross bench in 2025.

Kylea Tink, Federal Independent MP for North Sydney, NSW

Kylea has been a CEO, business owner, board director and strategic adviser. She is a mum of three who has lived in North Sydney for over 15 years. In May 2022, she was elected on a platform of climate action, political integrity, a forward-focused economy, equality and respect for all, and healthy families and communities.

Caz Heise, Independent Candidate for Cowper, NSW

Caz was born and raised in the Northern Tablelands and has raised her own children in the region. She has been a regional healthcare leader in nursing, midwifery, sustainable healthcare and disaster response. In 2022, she ran as the Independent candidate for Cowper and made the seat marginal. In 2025 she's aiming to make history by turning Cowper Independent!

Alex Dyson, Independent Candidate for Wannon, Vic

Alex grew up and was educated in Warrnambool before embarking on a career in radio, comedy and writing, including over 11 years at Triple J. He was the Independent candidate for Wannon in 2019 and 2022, when he made the seat marginal. Alex has been endorsed by the community to run for a third time in 2025 and is focused on cost-of-living relief and better funding, infrastructure and local healthcare for Wannon.
